Mechanics working with the human musculoskeletal system
To understand how an exoskeleton can make a difference in a manual worker’s day, you first need to understand what it is.
An exoskeleton is a mechanical system worn around one or more limbs of the human body to assist its efforts, such as material handling and moving objects.

Passive or active exoskeleton: which one to choose
The industry typically sorts exoskeletons into one of these two main categories:
The passive exoskeleton:
stores mechanical energy in springs, elastic bands or similar parts. For example, when the wearer bends forward, energy is stored in an elastic band that helps control the descent and then straighten back up.
The active exoskeleton:
runs on an external power source, such as a battery or a power line, and provides assistance through actuators.
UPLIFTTM: an exoskeleton that assists the back, shoulders and/or legs
When designing UPLIFTTM, our experts did not settle for building a good machine. They asked how people actually work. The answer: each in their own way. A good exoskeleton must above all be versatile.
3 modules, 4 exoskeletons in 1
One of a kind, the UPLIFTTM exoskeleton comes from a collaborative approach that puts people at the heart of the design. Designed to give the best possible mobility, it is made of 3 modules: a back module (required to control the equipment), to which two complementary modules can be added depending on your needs.
